Temporary power can be a crucial requirement for construction site operations. Since no two construction sites are the same, developers need a reliable partner who can install temporary power to their projects safely and efficiently. From strategy to installation, CATO is the experienced contractor to bring temporary power to all your projects—even the most challenging.

The Process

We meet with your team to conduct a thorough site analysis and develop a plan specific to the project and landscape. When the plan is in place and approved, we install the power and can maintain it throughout the life of your construction project. Once the project is transitioned to a permanent power infrastructure—which we can also manage for you—we remove the temporary power components.

Our Experience

We are experienced in providing temporary power for:

Residential Construction. There are three typical methods of supplying temporary power to residential construction, including installing a temporary meter base next to the facilities; running a secondary low voltage line from the street via temporary poles; and running primary cable to a transformer.

Project Showcase: Cottonwood Canyon

We installed two poles and a temporary low voltage line to the house that was being built and a motorhome on the site from a source that was 400 feet away

Commercial Construction. Temporary power installation for a commercial construction site can be as simple as running low voltage cable and conduit or building full overhead lines (with poles) or underground line for miles. The underground lines are typically needed in the second and third phases of the construction project.

Project Showcase: Wohali Mountain Retreat

The developer needed to water the grass of the golf course prior to installing roads and infrastructure on the site. We installed a combination of overhead and underground lines that spanned 2 miles in order to get electric to the pump house.

Industrial Construction. Temporary power at industrial sites is often considered to be semi-permanent. Although the needs are similar to those at commercial sites, industrial sites typically require longer, higher capacity lines.

Project Showcase: Rock Quarry

A Rock Quarry client needed “temporary” power to run its crusher in the gravel pit over a two-year period.

No matter what your needs, CATO can safely and efficiently install temporary power to all your construction projects—big and small. We will work with you to ensure that the plan meets your requirements and that you have the capacity you need to power all your construction activities.
