The CATO brand was front and center at the Summit County Demolition Derby which headlined the first day of the ongoing Summit County Fair on Saturday,
August 5th in Coalville. We sponsored the sold-out event and one of our employees, Jimmy joined other brave participants as they smashed and crashed their vehicles into each other in the ultimate battle to be the “last man standing.”
Our sponsorship involved the use of our JCB construction equipment to pull the wreckage out of the arena after each heat. Tory and Jimmy were at the controls all evening to clear the ring for the next wave of competitors.
Jimmy’s red, white, and blue derby ride proudly displayed a “Just Married” sign on the back (he got married the day before the derby!) and the CATO logo. He entered the car in the event’s paint job contest and then competed against his fellow daredevils in heat #5 of the derby, finishing in third place.
“The Demolition Derby is a fun way to kick off the annual fair and we are proud to do our part to support the fair and Jimmy,” said Tory Welch.
The annual Demolition Derby has become a favorite event at the fair, which runs through Saturday, August 12th. Learn more about the fair and the remaining activities here.
